Dead Island information
Dead Island is a first-person survival horror video game developed by Techland and published by Deep Silver for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is centered on the challenge of survival on a zombie-infested open world island with a major emphasis on meleecombat. It was originally announced at E3 2006,but was pushed back to 2011. It was released on September 6, 2011 in North America and September 9, 2011 for PAL regions (excluding Germany).
WEAPONS
Weapons are found throughout Banoi, they can be as simple as a wooden board to a highly modified electric death dealing machine. They are ranked in rarity from white (common), green (uncommon), blue (rare), purple (rarer) and finally orange (rarest). Weapons can be found by killing enemies, loot from chests, locked chests and directly from ground or walls.
Dead Island Enemys
Zombies are the basic enemy that are fought throughout Dead Island. All zombies seem to react to loud noises such as grenades or gunfire, attracting their attention and bringing them to the player(s).
There are no infected children in the game because rating systems like ESRB would disallow zombie children. Still, there is one example of a dead child, though it isn't featured in the game: the Daughter from the trailer.
COMMON ZOMBIES
Walkers
Walkers are the slow, shambling undead, roaming Banoi Island, looking for flesh to devour. Walkers are most dangerous in groups where their speed is less of a disadvantage. Walkers are also fairly quiet and can be difficult to spot in dark areas.
Infected
The Infected are much faster than Walkers but take less damage to kill. These infected are extremely dangerous and should be fought with caution. They are fast runners, agile and vicious, and because of their speed they are hard to keep track of in close combat. Also worth noting in act IV infected tend to carry weapons and use them quite effectively. So in the prison if you hear the blood curling shriek of the infected, remember, watch your back!
Smoking
Some zombies may be sick or have wandered into a toxic substance of some sort emanating from leaking chemical canisters, or just some misplaced barrels of waste. These zombies have fumes coming off of them in green-gray smokey plumes.
SPECIAL ZOMBIES
Thugs are the first special infected you come into contact with. They are much bigger and broader than ordinary zombies and deal massive damage, as well as knock-downs, with most swipes. They are larger than most infected, have broad shoulders, and are slow moving. They are frequently accompanied by several Walkers.
Suiciders are zombies trapped in disfigured, pulsing bodies. They retain a semblance of awareness even though their instincts drive them to get close to uninfected survivors and kill them with a self-destructive explosion. Listen for their distinctive moan to avoid them.
Rams are extremely tough, strong, ferocious and determined. These undead were either already crazy before the outbreak or were restrained after being infected in an attempt to prevent them from infecting others. Now they single-mindedly pursue any survivors in sight and try to take them out by charging at them. Their weak spot is a small patch of exposed skin on their back.
Floater
Floaters are zombies that have been submerged under water for an extended length of time. They can be found in the sewers as well as several ponds and lakes in the jungle. A Floater's bloated, partially decomposed body produces corrosive slime capable of hurting, blinding or disorienting enemies from a distance. Melee attacks often work better on Floaters than ranged ones, but be careful of their projectile slime when approaching.
Butcher
Butchers are meaner, tougher versions of the Infected that slice and tear through survivors with what is left of their limbs. Their leaping attacks and lightning-quick reactions make them hard to fight with melee attacks.
PUNKS
On the streets of Moresby and inside the abandoned buildings groups of these Punks laying claim to their own separate areas. All Punks have weapons to fight with, usually guns and on occasion melee weapons. Fighting human enemies is very different from fighting the undead as humans are sentient and will react to the player's actions more dynamically.
Dead Island Character
Sam B

Sam B, considered as a Blunt expert, serves as the "tank" of the group and has the ability to sustain heavy damage and handle numerous foes at the same time. His fury skill involves him pulling out his fists to punch enemies for extrodinary damage. Because of this, he is considered the easiest hero to use.
As a Blunt Specialist, he has numerous skills involved in amplifying damage and durability of blunt weapons found in the game. His main element of use is the blunt exclusive Impact. His support skills are more inclined to how he should resist damage.
Xian Mei
Xian Mei is the Blades expert and is considered the assassin of the group due to the nature of edged
weapons dealing high damage and her extrodinary speed and stamina. Her fury is to enter a rage mode to
deal extra damage to opponents with her short knife. Her nature of being very fragile makes her the hardest
hero to use as stated by most of the community, even in end-game.As a Blade Specialist, she has her skills inclined to making sure her blade attacks are more effective and also in her frequency of critical damage. Her main element is poison and her exclusive bleed effects (similar to bleed effects added on blunt weapon mods, where sharp weapons naturally do not have access to). She is able to survive onslaughts through her support skills, which further enhances her stamina and the effectivity of medkits on her.

Logan Carter
Logan Carter is the Thrown expert and the jack of all trades within the team. His fury allows him to throw an infinite amount of knives at nearby zombies.
Most of his skills are inclined to improving his throwing ability and how he should be versatile in general. He gains skills very exclusive to him such as being able to retrieve a thrown weapon without picking it up manually and dealing damage to multiple targets with a single throw. He also has skills that makes him effective with both edged and blunt weapons. He also is the only one with the more reliable bonus from using alcohol. His greatest weakness is his low stamina, which is somewhat aa meaningless drawback since throwing does not consume stamina.
Purna
Purna is the support within the team, and the Firearm expert. When her Rage mode is activated Purna has unlimited ammo with her Revolver. Her fury can be further upgraded with providing bonuses to nearby allies such as health gain and damage and also in the duration and the number of targets she can take per shot.
Most of her combat skills are involved in how effective her guns are, and initially, how she can deal with using edged weapons. Effectivity could come from increasing damage, to reducing recoil. Basically, most of her combat skills are there to give ease in using her firearms. Her support skill are what make her what she is. She offers an aura that improve nearby heroes, even to the point of improving the durability of their weapons. She is also the only one with the skills that support in ammunition, and she is also the only one with the skill to have a higher chance of getting a rare weapon.
